Commissioned as part of Home Delivery: Fabricating the Modern Dwelling at the Museum of Modern Art, Flatform is a projective building system that examines the shift toward digital design and production. Inverting the logic of stick-built framing, this speculative wall fragment produces a structural matrix from two opposing surfaces connected by a patterned series of internal tabs cut and joined from each face. The ordering of information directly translates to a more adaptive form, permitting non-vertical surfaces and greater variability of apertures within a digitally designed and fabricated yet easily hand-assembled construction.
